Founded by George Ferreira, our journey began as a side hustle to help his father-in-law in the Kalahari during a drought by selling wood. From these humble beginnings, we’ve grown into a thriving business, driven by the loyalty of our customers, suppliers, and community.

What started with just a few loads of acacia wood has expanded to thousands of tons of braai wood, charcoal, utensils, and grills. Our dedication to ethical sourcing and sustainability supports over 135 employees and benefits more than 500 individuals across 47 farms.

The name TJ’S Lekka Braai honours Theuns Jonk, whose initials, TJ, continue to represent our brand’s winning combination of tradition and trust.
